Why are doors counted twice in lead inspection reports?
Why are doors counted twice on lead-based paint inspection reports?
There are two main reasons: 1. Doors are between rooms and are counted as a component in each separate room. 2. Different sides of the doors are tested depending on which room is being inspected.
Be sure you or your contractor isn’t double counting a door when reviewing the lead-based paint inspection report. You can use the schematics included in the lead report to determine which doors are shared between which rooms.
